Why I Started HealthyBooks
When I first became an Enrolled Agent, I spent my days preparing tax returns. I loved helping people, but something never felt complete. I kept meeting hardworking business owners who were doing everything they could to build successful businesses while quietly carrying the weight of their finances alone.
They worried about whether their books were accurate, whether they were missing important deadlines, whether something was deductible, or whether they were paying more tax than necessary.
By the time tax season arrived, we were often reacting to what had already happened instead of planning ahead. I wanted to do more. I wanted to build relationships that lasted all year, not just during tax season. At the time, I didn’t even know bookkeeping. But I realized that if I truly wanted to support business owners year-round, I needed to understand their businesses beyond tax season. So I learned. HealthyBooks grew from that decision.
Today, helping business owners feel supported throughout the entire year is still my favorite part of what I do. I love creating reliable financial systems, answering questions before they become problems, and giving business owners the confidence to stop worrying about their books and get back to running the businesses they love.
What is an Enrolled Agent (EA)?
An Enrolled Agent is a federally licensed tax professional authorized to represent taxpayers before the IRS. EAs specialize in taxation and complete continuing education each year to stay current with changing tax laws.
